Developmental

Development editing is usually step one of editing. I will review and provide feedback on plot, characters, world building, and pacing.

This is usually the second phase of editing. Copy/line editing consists of corrections and feedback on spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, crutch words.

This should be done after developmental edits.

WHO I AM

(the long version)

I wanted to be a professional introvert, but I wasn’t sure how one made money doing that. I didn’t know many people personally who were making online entrepreneurs in a way that felt fun. Actually, no one seemed to be having fun working. Bummer…

Was it possible to make work fun? I wondered for literal years. Could I make a living having fun? Was that allowed?

I decided it was, and that I would do that. I was going to make a creative business and have fun making stuff. Oh, yeah, and money. Because you need that for food and shelter and whatnot. After that, I still struggled for years to figure out how that worked. Mindset issues and limiting beliefs and literal ignorance abounded.

But in 2020, I shifted.

I could do whatever I wanted. I made an investment in a course and coached that taught me how to take my gifts and create income. I am capable of doing whatever I want. I get to choose how I experience the world, and by God, my world changed.

I’m burdened with glorious purpose, with heavy dreams and talents that threaten to squash me — unless I use them. Gifts are meant to be used otherwise things start slipping.

It’s like putting water in a car and then wondering why it won’t work.

I had to figure out a way to exercise my creativity freely and constantly. Or else go craaaazy. The best, most efficient way seemed to be to make it my job so I had no choice. I quit my 9-5 in 2021 so I really had no choice.

So now my work is play. (Lil’ baby Christy would be so proud.)

That looks like drawing in Procreate and designing things in Canva; Canva is what I use to design graphics for my journals, planners, book covers, and merch. People love these stickers — look it!

That also looks like writing: books, web page copy, social media posts, blogs, freelance articles, and all that. In my freelancing career, I have been a virtual assistant for content creators, independent audiobook publishers, authors, and entrepreneurs; a developmental and copy editor for multiple authors;

I wear a lot of hats. So many hats.

And I help other introverted women share their authentic stories through words and build multiple income streams doing it. Because why wouldn’t I? That manifests as courses, YouTube videos, coaching and consulting, more books, my Facebook community, and the Resource Vault.
